Chad Husted, LPC
Vice President of Operations
Chad is a native of Pennsylvania with an undergraduate degree from Millersville University. He obtained a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Chad has spent the last 15 years in a variety of behavioral health positions. He began his career in Florida where he served as a psych tech, case manager, and supervisor in community mental health. Over the last 10 years, Chad has lived in Atlanta, where he managed an Acute Behavioral Health emergency room for three years. He has also spent several years providing school-based mental health therapy before moving into the business arena, where he oversaw managed care contracting, professional education, and business development. Since November 2015, Chad has served as Pyramid Healthcare’s Director of North Carolina Operations. Now, he brings his expertise in program development, relationship building, and mental health and addiction treatment to Silver Ridge as its Vice President of Operations.
Jessie Alexander, LPC
Prior to her time with Pyramid Healthcare, Jessie managed a clinically integrated treatment program with a focus on trauma, eating disorders, and addiction. She has worked in trauma-specific, gender-specific, and developmentally-specific therapeutic settings in her career providing treatment and program management for the adolescent, young adult, and midlife adult populations. She has also served on the founding executive committee of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, Atlanta Chapter.
Jessie’s primary focus is in clinically integrated treatment and complex trauma. She has contributed to research and presented on a range of topics including the midlife stage of development and substance use trends, treatment integration for trauma and eating disorders, family dynamics, the phase-oriented approach to trauma treatment, psychophysiology and coping skills, multicultural bias in clinicians, and high-risk behaviors and substance use. Jessie completed her undergraduate education with dual degrees in Psychology and Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences, and received her graduate education from Georgia State University in Professional Counseling.
Jess Edmunds, LCSW, LCAS, CCS
Managed Care Coordinator
Focusing on the intersection of mental health and addiction since 2008, Jess is a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed clinical addiction specialist. She has worked with groups, individuals and families to further their awareness of healthy relational dynamics, present moment awareness, and living lives of meaning and value. Acceptance and commitment therapy are a core modality of her treatment focus and she has a background in various trauma-focused treatments. Jess currently works to ensure clinical authorization of coverage with insurance companies while individuals are at Silver Ridge.
In her free time, Jess enjoys spending time outside exploring the mountains and building connections within her community.
Samuel Hensley, MSW, LCSW, LCAS, CCS
Samuel attended Louisiana State University, where he obtained his Master of Social Work degree with a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Samuel began his clinical career working with veterans and older adults. Specializing in treating addictive disorders since 2012, Samuel approaches recovery as a process of healing, growth, and reconciliation. He views his role as a Primary Therapist at Silver Ridge as an opportunity to provide support to his clients during a very meaningful journey.
In his spare time, Samuel enjoys kayaking, rock climbing, camping, and hiking in the natural beauty of Western North Carolina.
Michael Racine, LCAS, CCS, MAC
Michael graduated with his master’s in counseling psychology from Troy State in 1993. He is currently pursuing a course of study in Spiritual Direction, Jungian Analysis, and Dream Work at the Haden Institute.
Michael utilizes holistic, experiential and mindfulness-based models to assist with the client’s inner transformation. Michael sees each person as a unique individual with inner wisdom, distinct life experiences, and untapped resources. His goal is to support each client in accessing their inner wisdom and resources and to aid in the healing toward a greater sense of wholeness and meaning.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, camping, kayaking, martial arts, providing retreats and rite-of-passage work, writing poetry, and working on his blog.
Kristin Rappold, LCSW-A, LCAS
Kristin received her Master of Social Work degree from Western Carolina University after learning the ropes in community mental health services, traveling and studying philosophy. She is passionate about recovery and believes that anyone can recover and deserves to do so. Kristin’s approach is based on authentic listening and compassion. She aims to provide space for those she works with to share their struggles openly and without fear of judgment. She has worked extensively with people experiencing a variety of challenges including addiction, trauma, autism, anxiety, and depression. She is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A).
A proud crunchy mama, Kristin loves spending time with her family, exploring the mountains they call home and digging in the dirt.
Terri Owens, CSAC, CPSS, QP
Terri began working in the addiction field offering support as a Certified Peer Support Specialist. Today she continues to use her lived experience as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to help others understand substance abuse in order to live their best life as a person in recovery.
Outside of work, Terri enjoys spending time with her grandson & passing along the traditions of her native Appalachian roots.
Lead Behavioral Health Technician
Nan Lynch, CC
A Brooklyn, New York native, Chef Nan Lynch is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The Arts Institute of Charlotte. Nan started her career with the North Carolina Panthers football team, honing the craft of prepping meals for large numbers without sacrificing quality. After two seasons with the Panthers, she was offered the opportunity to join the Banquet team at the prestigious Grove Park Inn Spa & Resort. Quickly advancing to Demi Chef, she led the Garde Manger department for the banquet team providing thousands of guests with high-end dishes and settings.
Seeking a more intimate venue, Nan joined the team at Silver Ridge as Executive Chef. She accepted the challenge of creating a menu that not only pleases the palate but also helps with nutrition specific needs for people in the recovery process. From customized dietary menus to personalized attention, each client is ensured exceptional nutritional care while in the program and during the aftercare process.
When not taking care of clients at Silver Ridge, Nan likes to spend time with her rescue beagle.
Director of Business Development Southeast Region
Travis’ vocation has always been in the helping professions. Starting his behavioral health career in 2008, Travis provided direct care counseling services in a variety of levels of care in western North Carolina. In 2012 he transitioned to a Community Relations Representative role at October Road, an outpatient mental health and substance use treatment program in Asheville, NC. Combining his clinical skills with excellent customer service, Travis was then promoted to National Clinical Liaison for Pyramid Healthcare marketing Silver Ridge, our mid-life adult professionals program. Most recently Travis became the Director of Business Development for the Southeast Region of Pyramid Healthcare and now oversees business development for Silver Ridge, Real Recovery, Tapestry, and October Road.
